Inspired by childhood memories of my mother’s garden, this original still life was painted ala prima in the direct method letting each brushstroke speak for itself. I learned to love vegetables after spending time with Mom digging fresh potatoes, onions, radishes and turnips, picking fresh peas, tomatoes, and okra off the vines at the garden. Growing up on a farm was a wonderful childhood.
